My one and only venture into Spain’s Cádiz Province was a purely functional one. I wanted to get to Gibraltar from Malaga and in order to do that I’d need to pass through the border town of La Línea de la Concepción, known as The Gateway to Gibraltar. In fact, accommodation in the British territory proved so pricey I ended up booking digs in La Línea and making the short daily walk from my hotel through border control.
