Short stories & travel reports from a life spent living, working and exploring the globe.
In mid April 2019 I finished up my third teaching contract inChinaand jetted off toSouth Koreato catch up with my chief travel co-conspiratorWonderboy, now based in the city of Daegu. Even better, we were soon joined by my Jeonju-based brother for a much-needed two and a half year reunion and a chance to finally meet his fiancee Kaley.
And so unfurled a memorable week of exploration in Korea’s fourth largest city, a sprawling metropolis that boasts the nation’s most famous traditional medicine market, a handful of stunning churches, an impressive lake, one of my favorite Asian food markets and a street dedicated to the life and music of Korea’s most beloved singer-songwriter.
