Germany was a country that never really appealed to me as a youngster. Maybe it was partly down to petty football rivalries or the subconscious weight of history and the small matter of two world wars. But then I found myself living next door in Belgium where I was married to a Dutch girl with a German mother. So I ended up making a bunch of trips to Germany, during which I met a great grandmother who’d lived through the second World War. I also celebrated my stag weekend in Germany, explored its amazing capital, checked out a royal palace and discovered a number of small villages. So check out my articles on:
