In late April, 2018 my travels through central Vietnam took me to the pretty river city of Hue. Right from the off I was struck with how livable this place is; from the perfume-flavored markets, parks and floating restaurants of the promenade to its wonderful blend of chic, modern hotels, cafes and restaurants alongside the crumbling walls of The Imperial City. In the end three nights wasn’t quite enough, but a one-month itinerary waits for nobody, so I rolled up my sleeves and resolved to do Hue as much justice as I could.
