Jiangsu Province

Things to see and do Jiangsu Province China

For years overshadowed by nearby Shanghai, the pretty, lush-green province of Jiangsu has much to offer the intrepid traveller and has become increasingly in demand with both tourists and expats looking to set up base.

This is where the most charming section of China’s Grand Canal can be seen, both in and around the many cutesy water towns as well as within the gorgeous city of Suzhou, the so-called “Venice of China”. Famed for its silk industry, salt production, opera and ancient gardens, Jiangsu also has UNESCO caves, gargantuan lakes, endless temples, Lingshan Grand Buddha and let’s not forget Nanjing, consistently championed as one of the country’s most livable cities.
