Known throughout China as The Gateway to Hong Kong, in recent years the city of Shenzhen has blossomed enough to be considered a heavyweight destination in its own right. I managed to squeeze in four nights there at the end of my Chinese New Year Trip of 2018. Cue some shopping at the world’s greatest electronics market, a visit to a fascinating oil painting village and quite possibly the best Indian restaurant I’ve been to in Asia.
